Mallorcan history and tradition

Agricultural and cultural wealth

Fangar is one of Mallorca's historic possessions: a living testimony to the island's economy and culture since the Middle Ages. These farms, dedicated to agriculture and livestock, were fundamental pillars until the arrival of tourism in the twentieth century. Fangar stands out for its buildings that reflect various historical periods. The main house, extended in 1635 and renovated between 1794 and 1804, shows the architectural evolution of the estate, being an emblematic example of Mallorcan history.

Heritage and evolution

Agriculture and Production

With a square floor plan and a large central courtyard, Fangar exemplifies the importance of possessions in Mallorca's ancient economy. Where multiple agricultural activities were carried out, such as the production of oil in the great oil mill of 1858 and the milling of grain in the blood mill. The cultivation of the vine was significant, with the monumental winery testifying to the production and export of wine. The estate is also home to expanses of olive groves, carob trees, fig and almond trees, reflecting the agricultural diversity that sustained the local economy for centuries.

Legacy & Modernization

Family transformation

The Fangar estate has been owned by the current family since the 19th century, when Germán March Giadas, an entrepreneur from Mallorca, acquired part of the buildings. Later, his son Germán March Soler, along with his wife Catín Vicens Morell, unified the property. In 1987, the estate was passed to Antonia March Vicens and her husband Rafael Gil Mendoza, who modernized the estate and developed basic services in the Valley of San Miguel, such as installing electricity and telephone lines. After Antonia March's passing, the estate was inherited by her children, who continue to uphold the heritage and family culture represented by this Mallorcan property. Today, Fangar remains a model of adaptation and preservation of heritage, blending history and modernity in a privileged natural setting.
